Chinese Community backs prosecution of National who murdered his Nigerian girlfriend in Kano

The Chinese Business Community in Nigeria (CBCAN) today (19/09/2022) declared it's support for the prosecution of Geng Quanrong, over the alleged murder of his Nigerian girlfriend identified as Ummukulsum Buhari in Kano State.

It could be recalled that there had been an outrage over the gruesome murder of the deceased who is currently serving her one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.

The tragic incident had happened on Friday (16/09/2022) after the Chinese man went to his girlfriend's home where he attacked her to death. The mother of the 23-year-old deceased had said he had pushed her down when she opened the door for him, after persistent knocks. He then went ahead to her daughter's room where he stabbed her to death.

Efforts to save her life turned abortive as she had given up the ghost because they could reach the hospital.

An Islamic scholar, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, while reacting to the tragic demise, had said that the deceased called him sometimes ago, to seek for his advice over her relationship with the Chinese man. He had however warned her against marrying him, as not knowing the true identity of his before marriage could spell doom.

However, CBCAN under chairmanship of Mike Zhang, had condemned horrific act by their national, and had urged security operatives to take necessary steps.

The Chinese Community in Kano is fully in support of the law taking its proper course

The statement reads in part.
