Jilted lover sets Newly Wed ablaze, says he had spent over N150,000 on the Bride

 

Ibrahim Muhammadu, a jilted lover have been arrested by the Nigerian Police Force, Adamawa State Command, for allegedly setting a newly wedded couple ablaze after being jilted by the bride.

According to reports, the tragic incident had happened on Tuesday (06/09/2022) two weeks after the couple's wedding.

Muhammadu was said to have hired one Ibrahim Savanna to help him carry out the gruesome attack and had made the payment of Five Thousand Naira (N5000) to him. He claimed to have been jilted of the sum of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (N150,000) by the wife.

Savanna who has since taken to his heels, was said to have secured himself with a gallon of petrol and matches, sneaked into the couple's residence while they asleep in the night, locked them in and set the building on fire.

Sadly, the wife didn't survive the severe burns, while the husband is said to be battling with his life at the Specialist Hospital in Yola, the state's capital.

Speaking with the Press Team, the father-of-four had confessed to the crime, saying;

I'm married with four children. But I fell in love with the deceased and spent about N150,000 on her after she promised to wed me. After collecting my money, she declined my proposal and got married to another suitor who is the victim of the tragic incident

Confirming the incident, the command's spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje had today (12/09/2022) said that the case is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the command.
