Chinese Man goes on a killing spree in California, shoots 7 Dead

 


A 67-year-old man identified as Chunli Zhao has been arrested by authorities after he shot no less than seven coworkers dead and left another two injured, following a shootout on Monday (23/01/2023).

Reports states that the shooting at happened on two farms at the Northern California City of Half Bay in the United States. 

It was said that the horrific incident had happened at noon and some of the killing were down in front of horrified kids, several miles on the outskirts of the city along the California coast.

The suspect, Zhao, who had turned himself up to the authorities, was said to have acted alone and has been cooperative with the investigations.

Four people were said to have been gunned down on the spot, while one person was severely wounded at a nursery and the other three were killed at another nursery, all of which happened around 2 PM.

While speaking, the President for the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, Dave Pine, said the suspect worked for one of the two businesses and also referred to him as a "Disgruntled Worker". The victims were also said to be staff and some of them even lived at the community with their families.

San Mateo Sheriff, Christina Corpus, said that the suspect was found in the parking lot of a sheriff's substation and surrendered immediately to the authorities. A semi-automatic weapon was said to be recovered.

For children to witness this is unspeakable. Corpus said. This is a devastating tragedy for this community and the many families touched by this unspeakable act of violence
